Values That Ground Our Work

Healing Happens Through Relationship.

Research indicates that the quality of the client-provider relationship is THE most impactful factor in making progress. Our therapeutic approach is highly relational that serves to create a collaborative container where profound change can happen. You and all of your emotions, with all of their intensity, are welcome here. By co-creating a place where you experience deep acceptance we can also create deep change.

Therapeutic Approach
Relationship is key: We are wired for connection. Trauma replaces our connection mechanisms with protection mechanisms. But just as harm is done in relationship, so to healing happens in relationship. We believe that the theraputic relationship is the most important factor in supporting you’re wellness. We believe that when we prioritize healthy connection, we nurture the soil in which empowerment can grow and be sustained.
Therapeutic Approach

Mind: Body: Spirit Integration: A holistic therapeutic approach includes supporting all three. Our methods and approach are meant to nourish and support all aspects of your full being. From somatics, depth analytics, and concrete skills to connecting with outside supports, we care about your full being.

Therapeutic Approach
You are the expert: We believe that you are the expert on your experiences. Although we have expertise in mental health and ways of healing…we are not experts on you. We believe in your experience, autonomy and understanding of what is best for you.

Therapeutic Approach

Everyone has the capacity for change and healing: We believe in your potential for the change you desire, and the healing you seek. Regardless if you have been told otherwise. People need support and tools to step into this potential. You do not need to do it alone.

Therapeutic Approach
Anti-Oppression: We believe our healing is connected to each-other, our ecosystems, and all communities. Understanding how the greater picture of our culture has impact our lives and working to unlearn toxic systems, is essential to personal healing, and therefore necessary for collective growth. We strive to always be learning and practicing abolitionist ways of being. Do not hesitate to ask about how this informs our work.
Therapeutic Approach
Non – pathologizing:  We believe that human behavior is responsive to the environmental conditions. Although often difficult or maladaptive, our mental health makes sense in the context in which we are living. We strive to remove shame and stigma from what you are experiencing.
Therapeutic Approach
Trauma informed: We believe everyone has experienced trauma. Having a solid understanding of how trauma impacts us as individuals and communities informs our approach. The core principles of trauma informed care are 1) Safety, 2) Choice, 3) Collaboration, 4) Trustworthiness, and 5) Empowerment.
Therapeutic Approach
Feedback Oriented: Part of creating transformative relationships is creating a space where feedback is welcomed, and where trust is built by demonstrating responsiveness and collaboration. We welcome your feedback. You should not have to feel nervous about talking to your therapist if something isn’t working, feels off, or if you want anything to be different. Listening to your experience helps us support you.
